SkillsNET® and MnSCU team to Determine Skill Requirements for Medical Device Engineering Technology Field

WAXAHACHIE, TX May 2007 -

The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU), the nation’s largest community college system, selects SkillsNET to determine the Skill and Knowledge requirements for Medical Device Engineering Occupations. The Industrial Psychology Solutions (IPS) team led by Dr. Darrel Sandall will investigate and analyze the parameters of the various roles of the medical device engineering technologist include job descriptions and known job specifications.

SkillsNET will use its’ innovative web-based job profiler to harvest essential information and job related data. MnSCU plans to use the job profiler results to assist the qualification process of applicants entering the growing occupation field and to design new courseware. Additionally, the effort will provide MnSCU educators and regional industry stakeholder’s baseline data to establish industry standards for measurement of workforce competencies.
